Event Description:

The study of the Holy Spirit (pneumatology) has suffered from two opposite but equally damaging problems: neglect, on the one hand, and sensationalism, on the other. Yet Scripture is clear that the Holy Spirit, as God, is crucial for a fulfilled and productive Christian life. Consequently, we are admonished to be “filled with the Spirit” (Ephesians 5:18) and to “walk in the Spirit” (Galatians 5:16). How can we do these things if we either avoid the subject altogether or focus on unbiblical, even dangerous, extremes? During this seminar, Dr. Renea Brathwaite (a specialist in the area of pneumatology) will provide biblical, historical, theological, and practical insights into the nature and operation of the Holy Spirit in the world, the church, and the believer’s life. Attendees will leave with a deepened appreciation and understanding of the role the Holy Spirit plays in their own spiritual journeys, as well as strategies to communicate the truths about the Holy Spirit to others effectively. The seminar is designed to be a non-sectarian resource for pastors and laypersons alike and to convey an intelligent, passionate spirituality to which Christians of all denominational affiliations can readily subscribe.”
