Thank you for your interest in the Preachers’ College, which will take place from Thursday, April 30th through Saturday, May 2nd of 2015. Dr. Scott Gibson, the Haddon W. Robinson Professor of Preaching and Ministry and Director of Gordon Conwell’s Center for Preaching will lead the workshop on Malone’s campus.
Our objective is to provide men and women who have been called to preach with the essential tools needed to compose and present biblical, relevant, and effective sermons. Whether you are a layperson with occasional preaching responsibilities, an experienced pastor looking to refine your skills in expository preaching, or new to the ministry, this workshop will have much to offer you. During our time together, we will explore the principles of Dr. Haddon Robinson’s classic book on expository preaching, titled simply, Biblical Preaching. Because this is a hands-on workshop, we will provide you with an opportunity to put your learning into practice and preach a brief sermon. Accordingly, we have set aside Saturday morning for our workshop facilitators to listen and give helpful feedback on your preaching. Once you have registered, we will provide you with a list of passages for your pre-workshop preparation. If you have any questions about this, please do not hesitate to ask.
There is no cost for this workshop, since all expenses have been covered by the very generous support of a long-time friend of Malone University and advocate for expository preaching in today’s churches. Because space is limited to 24 participants, we do require a fully refundable $100 deposit. We ask that you provide a $100 check with your application, though we will not deposit your check and will return it to you upon your arrival at the workshop on April 30th of 2015.
What we provide:
The Center for Christian Faith & Culture will cover the complete cost of your participation in the workshop which includes, participation in all training activities, housing in an individual university dorm room (if you choose to stay on campus), all meals on during your stay, and any workshop materials that you may need.
As we are limited to just 24 participants, it is advised that you complete the application process as soon as possible. To apply, please download this file – CCFC Preachers College 2015-Information Packet – which includes the application form. We will accept applicants on a first-come, first served basis. Technically, we will close the registration process on Friday, April 10th. However, the workshop may fill-up long before this date. We will notify you of your acceptance soon after we receive your application.
In the meantime, if you have any questions about the workshop or about staying in on-campus housing, please don’t hesitate to contact me at the email address below.
We are look forward to hearing from you and getting to know you better.
